"What a powerful story! I’ve read all of Carissa’s books but this one definitely stands out amongst them and is now my absolute new favorite of hers. It is so powerful not only due to the fascinating plot but because of an important subject it deals with - domestic abuse and the victim’s attempt to fight back. It was terrifying to read at times because the topic, now finally so widely discussed and not silenced anymore, hits so close to home; reading about Nova and her little daughter Lily I kept thinking about all the articles I’ve read and news I've seen in which an abusive partner killed his wife/girlfriend and/or kidnapped their child. But whereas the news articles and reports often offer a short and dry account of the events, Carissa invites the reader into the very mind of the victim and perpetrator, and she does it so masterfully that I found it chilling to read through certain scenes. What I also enjoyed immensely is the growth and transformation of all three main characters (I won’t give away any spoilers but you’ll understand everything in the end) and the newfound strength that connected them as the case with the missing girl progressed. Brilliantly written, haunting and chilling, “Without a Trace†is a true must read for everyone, not just readers interested in thrillers. Bravo!"

- The beginning of the story seemed so typical of the abusive husband saga (of which there are so many lately) but then it takes a different direction w/Nova's escape. Then it gets weird....her daughter Lily disappears- Nova behaves incoherant, terrified of being outdoors, portrayed as mentally ill. With no sign of Lily we are not sure if she ever existed or a figment of a mentally unstable woman's imagination. Next Nova herself disappears mysteriously and again we are left wondering if her ex husband found & killed her. The story was told from 4 POV. Nova, Ellie, the cop, Clara the mysterious neighbor and Martin, the husband. At first I was drawn into the mystery of Nova....is she psychotic? Imagining things? Then she disappears from the story altogether. The rest of the book is about finding Nova and Lily. The book was easy to read, and the characters well defined but lacking genuine emotion.
My problem was with the plot. Towards the end pieces of the mystery are revealed and at this point things got very confusing, don't want to reveal too much. In my opinion the last quarter of the book was lacking in believability and kind of ridiculous. So many other options, simpler options could have resolved this messy ending
It's like the author goes out of her way to create a scenario that A- is confusing, and B- so over the top that it becomes anticlimactic and the ending falls flat.
So I personally would not reccomend it, looking back it was kind of lame. - Carissa Ann Lynch knows how to write a story to keep you hanging on until the very end.
I had no clue what was true and what wasn’t. I was doubting everything said by every character.
I love her writing and the little twists she puts in to make you stop and think but never put the book down.
There one minute and gone the next, or was she ever really there? If she was, how was all traces of Lily erased so thoroughly? - I could not put this down. This book was amazing ! I would recommend it for everyone who loves suspense, it definitely kept me guessing until the end!

- Other than the use of some, what I consider inappropriate language, I enjoyed reading Without a Trace, that's why I rated it four stars. I loved the way the story was brought together, the unfolding of the mystery. In many ways it was a story, not just of Nova, but of many women, maybe even you. It's time the story was told.
- Really enjoyed this. Easy read fast Paced .wish I could I had some one t o egg me on. Started to write had several real pages
